Bukayosaka won an early this week over Arsenal as he scored on his first appearance after a layoff of three months of injury. The 23-year-old has won what turned out to be a victory goal against Fulham.

Arsenal struggled during Saka’s absence. Saka began in December when he suffered a serious hamstring injury. But as he’s back, they’re targeting a strong end of the season, with the Premier League barely out of reach, while Mikel Arteta’s side still has Champions League aspirations.

In a catch-offside exclusive column, Collymore spoke about Saka building importance to Arsenal, but revealed to Arteta that he can’t rely solely on the winger because of his tie with Real Madrid.

“It was essential that Arsenal’s Champions League and Premier League ambitions bring Bukayosaka back from injuries. Mikel Merino has established himself as an unlikely scorer, but his performance when he was injured shows just how important he is to Mikel Arteta.

“Saka is a real amulet for Arsenal and I think his return has even saved them from falling under the forests of Nottingham at the Premier League table.

“From a Champions League perspective, Saka is brave and bold enough to help Arsenal beat Real Madrid and do so. I don’t think so, but it’s unfair that he will bear the burden.

“Arsenal needs to understand how to face Real Madrid. If they go to the toes with them, I think they’ll be beaten firmly on two legs. But if they’re more practical, they have a chance and the responsibility lies with Arteta.
