LONDON – ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi will tentatively add the role of CEO to his mission, interim, to the end of June, after current CEO Massimo Calvelli leaves his position and the search for successor was announced on Friday.
It’s a fierce time of sports. An antitrust law was brought in in federal court in New York last month by the Players Association, founded by Novak Jjokovic, accusing ATP, Women’s Tour and other major organizations of being a cartel.
Apart from that, Djokovic wrote to the heads of the four Grand Slam tournaments to seek more share of the prize money at these events and more in decision-making.
Calvelli was appointed ATP CEO in 2020 and said on the tour the players’ payouts will be $100 million more this season than in 2019.
