Liverpool defender Virgil van Dik has linked his move away from the club at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old Dutch International was out of contract in the summer and he has not yet signed an extension with the club. The defender’s future remains unknown, and there were rumours that Liverpool could aim to tie him into a new deal.
Over the past few weeks, Liverpool has covered reports that they are confident they can keep him at the club beyond the season. However, a report from Fichajes now claims that players are hoping to steal a new contract offer from Liverpool and join another club at the end of the season.
Paris Saint-Germain is keen to sign the Dutch international defender in the summer. They can certainly use more quality and depth in defensive units, and the 33-year-old would be an excellent acquisition. Regardless of his age, he remains an outstanding world class player for Liverpool this season. The Premier League club will win the title this season, and Vandic has helped them succeed.
van Dijk converts PSG
There is no doubt that he is enough to play for the world’s biggest club. He was able to significantly improve his PSG. The French outfit has been an exception this season, already winning the league title. They are good to go all the way in the UEFA Champions League as well. The French outfit was able to eliminate Liverpool at a European tournament earlier this season.
Signing and transferring a player like Van Dijk for free is a great boost for any club. It helps them improve their team with nominal investment. The 33-year-old is more than just a world-class defender. He is also the leader. He was able to help PSG turn on and off the pitch.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can properly replace him.
