Former NBA player Danny Green has made a tall claim to Kevin Durant’s position in the debate in history.

The Phoenix Suns are currently owing a six-game winning streak as they play their fourth straight game without Kevin Durant, who is on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

Without Durant, the Suns would rarely miss the NBA Play-In Tournament and clinch the Bertz in the 2025 postseason.

If the Suns miss out on the playoffs this season, many believe they can demand that Durant leave Phoenix this offseason. Many believe it hurts his legacy, and fans don’t think much of Durant as a player.

While many have questioned the Slim Reaper NBA legacy, often putting him under the likes of LeBron James and Stephen Curry, former La Lakers guard Danny Greene is slightly different throughout the latest episode of Run It Back.

“I have a lot of people on top that don’t have him on top. I have him on Steph. We never see a better scorer than him.

“This guy was incredible. I couldn’t believe he was filming 50-40-90 for 16 or 17 years. He’s one of the best he’s ever had.”

Green believes Durant’s ability to score from all levels on the floor with his physique is truly unique. Certainly, there are a few people labelled the next KD, but I am very suspicious that Midori will live up to expectations.

In the context, Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. He has fought with several injuries, but at the age of 36, that is expected.

At the beginning of his career, Durant was one of the NBA’s most beloved superstars. But that all changed when he abandoned the OKC Thunder and joined the 73-9 Golden State Warriors.

With that in mind, Green believes it is the only thing that is KD’s NBA legacy discolouration.

“People don’t like the way he won, he got two (finals) MVPs, they said he went there, and I’m not a fan of it, but I think he’s the best he ever races up because of what he can do in 7 feet, even if he didn’t do it.

As Green pointed out, Durant’s skills as a player are top notch, but the way he won his two titles hurts the NBA All-Star goat case forever, 15 times more than other legends.
