Former Los Angeles All-Star catcher Yasmani Grandal has signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox, according to fundoid Robert Murray.
Grandal said he was considering retirement earlier this offseason, but now he has found work with American League candidates.

MLB insider Francys Romero reported last month that Grandal rejected an offer from Atlanta Braves and was considering resigning if more opportunities did not come true. However, the opportunity officially came along with Red Sox, who finished third in AL East, 6-7 on Thursday.
Grandal, 36, spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, making appearances in 72 games, hitting .228 on nine home runs and hitting 27 runs.
Grandal was with the from 2015 to 2018. There he was the most successful career success, appearing in 510 games, cutting .238/.337/.453 with 89 home runs and 245 runs.

Grandal is a career .236 batter who was trapped in two impressive milestones with 592 runs hit by 194 home runs. He now wants to achieve them with the Red Sox, who have Carlos Narves and Blake Saboll on catchers.
Grandal is a two-time All-Star over his 13-year career. He spent time with the Pirates at the San Diego Padres, , Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago White Sox and the Magical League level.
