After the defeat against Newcastle United, he is being asked about Manchester United’s Reuben Amorim.
The Red Devils were beaten convincingly by Newcastle at St James Park with Eddie Howe’s side 4-1 win over Amorim’s struggling team.
The defeat put Mann in 14th in the league, with no signs of improvement since Amorim’s arrival, and the manager is currently under pressure regarding his future with the club.
These are still early and Amorim needs to give club support in the transfer window, but the players he has at will have been unreliable under his management, which could put pressure on the Portuguese manager, allowing his work at the club to get into trouble.
Former Man United Scout Mick Brown claims that Red Devils is considering selling some of their players and is deciding to raise funds for the summer transfer business under Amorim, but the manager is currently putting pressure on the performance.
“Ruben Amorim is definitely under pressure.” Brown told Soccer Insider.
“Serious questions are beginning to be asked because things weren’t good enough.
“Most depends on what Man United can do in the transfer market.
“They are publicly talking about how they don’t have the money, but they are also preparing to sell some of the current players to raise money.
“Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and others are talking about.
“But I hope things will improve if we can bring in players that suit Amorim’s system.
“If they can’t back him back in the window, we don’t know how there will be improvements. If they do, then things don’t get better, we usually know what happens.
“That pressure is only growing, and the only way it can change is because it will result in better results.”
Man United regressed under Reuben Amorim
Brown is not the only person to express his concern about Man United. Gary Neville joined in discussing Man United’s poor standards and how most of their teams are not sufficient.
Even Alan Shearer was involved in the conversation, talking about how Amorim needed a new signature at the club in attack, midfield and goalkeeping positions.
It’s obvious to see the struggle at Man United, and if they’re knocked out of the Europa League this week, Amorim’s problems will be even more.
He left a team that potentially won a title in the sport to get a job at United, but so far his decision has proven disastrous given the challenges his team is facing.
