According to a report by Sports Tak, veteran team Indian cricketers Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah will hold A+ grades on the central contract list. India’s Cricket Committee (BCCI) is scheduled to release its final list of central contracts later this week.

Regular Indian players like Shreiyas Ayer and Ishan Kishan were removed from the BCCI Central Contract List last year. They were unable to meet the BCCI requirements of playing regular domestic cricket. Now, the announcement of the central contract for next season is a few days away.

“We have almost completed a new contract for players in all categories. It will be published in the public domain in a day or two,” a top BCCI source told Sports Tak anonymously.

“After the tour of England, the new contract will be officially made, with players’ recent performances in mind,” the source added.

“It’s likely that it’s the same, with some new arrivals likely to be added at a later date. Sources added that the coach and selectors gave their opinions.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been set to retain A+ grades

The report added that Schreyersaire will return to the central contract list following his outstanding performance at the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, it is unlikely that Ishan Kishan will secure a contract this time.

Iyer was India’s highest rankor at Champions Trophy. Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma are expected to hold A+ contracts. In particular, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have retired from the T20IS. The overall list of players may remain the same, but you can add some new names later.

Varun Chakravarthy, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abhishek Sharma are lined up to win their first BCCI central contract. Nitish, Sarfaraz Khan and Akash Deep are also expected to be awarded contracts after playing a good test.

India launches WTC 2025–27 cycles in the UK in Test Series

India will begin the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle in a five-match Test series against the UK after the end of IPL 2025. Performances during this tour will play a key role in shaping the final BCCI central contract.

After failing to reach the WTC 2023–25 final, India is keen to launch a new cycle strongly. They also aim to end a long-standing drought that has not won a Test Series in the UK since 2007.

The series begins at Headingley on June 20th, with the remaining matches being played at Ed Baston (July 2-6), Road (July 10-14), Old Trafford (July 23-27), and Oval (July 31-August 4).
