Tottenham rented it out from Bayern Munich in January to sign Matiss Tell, and provided by Christian Falk Catch off side Exclusive update on the situation of the French striker.
Written for his latest daily briefing column, Falk said Bayern is now considering offloading the Tel, but it remains to be seen whether the Spurs will pay him.
Tel is struggling while lending in North London and appears to be facing an uncertain future this summer.
Tottenham certainly would be better off looking at other options ahead of time.
It will be hard to see him succeed with Bayern and Spurs in the near future, so it will be interesting to see who has to deal with him this summer.
Christian Folk regarding the transfer status of Matisse Tel
“Mathys Tel: FC Bayern bosses still want Tottenham to take advantage of the purchase clause. 60 million euros will urgently need to buy a Harry Kane replacement. Bayern has only one striker at the moment.”
“There are two issues. It’s not easy to convince TEL to go on loan. If Tottenham doesn’t compete in the European competition next season, it will be even more difficult. At this point, Tottenham is not ready to pay this high asking price either.
“At this point, the transfer doesn’t seem to work.”
Tell looked really strange when he first joined Bayern, but it’s not going well for him, so he needs to get his next move to revive his career.
However, the Spurs cannot afford to gamble him at such a high price.
