Liverpool confirms that Vandik’s new contract and summer plansVirgil Van Dijk’s new Liverpool contract costs over £40,000,000If Kelleher departs, the new Liverpool Eye backup goalkeeper

According to a recent report, Liverpool is currently planning to sign a goalkeeper who is statistically similar to Manchester United’s Andre Onana for just £4 million.

Liverpool confirms that Vandik’s new contract and summer plans

Just a week after Mohamed Sara confirmed he had signed a new deal with Liverpool, the Reds announced that superstar defender Virgil van Dick had signed a new deal until the summer of 2027.

There could be a big transfer twist on the card.

The 33-year-old, who is set to become a free agent this summer, has been attracting attention from German giants Bayern Munich, but Dutchmann is committed to the Premier League side, and his new contract is reportedly going to make him £400,000 a week.

“I’m so happy and I’m so proud. Obviously, I’m going through my head now, I’m going through my head now. It’s proud. It’s joy. It’s incredible.

“It was always Liverpool, that was the case, it was always in my mind, it was always a plan, it was always Liverpool.

“In my mind, there was no doubt that this was a place for me and my family. I’m one of Liverpool. Someone was called an adopter the other day. I’m really proud to hear these things.

According to German Outlet Sports Build, as van Dyck is violating his future for the Reds, Liverpool is interested in signing goalkeeper Moritz Nicholas from Borussia Menchenradbach, desperate to raise money.

The report states that Nicholas is of interest from the UK, particularly Liverpool. That’s because Fabian Otte, the current head of goalkeeper coaching for the first team, has previously worked with Nicholas and may be lined up for a move to Anfield to enhance options between the sticks.

The Reds plan to make an instant move for the shot stopper, and Mönchengladbach is desperate for cash to balance the book, so a proper offer can be seen as this deal accelerates. Nicholas has a market value of just 5 million euros, which is about 4 million pounds.

The report adds that the 27-year-old is seeking one last big deal in his career, but perhaps worrying, Nicholas is statistically similar to Man United’s Onana. The pair has similar passed numbers, sharing a poor record of penalty savings, placing the Manchester United’s keeper second in FBREF’s “similar players” tool.

Liverpool already has Giorgi Mamaldashvili, who has arrived from Valencia in the summer, but has not stopped looking for another goalkeeper as Khaoimhin Kelehar is expected to leave.
