This wasn’t the way the pulled it out of their spring training.
Blake Snell was a respected acquisition during the busy offseason. He was predicted to come and become the ace of the team. After two starts, Snell was placed in IL for 15 days on April 7th with shoulder inflammation.

Of course, whenever the pitcher is dealing with a shoulder issue, there are some real causes of concern. In Snell’s case, at 32, it’s about the last thing he wants to endure season-ending arm issues.
When talking to the media, manager Dave Roberts provided an update on talented left-handed pitchers. Things seemed quite optimistic.
Snell played catch for the first time on Monday since going to IL. He made 20-30 throws at about 90 feet. Roberts provided this specifically in the Return Timeline.
“I don’t know exactly. I think he feels how he feels, he recovers and progresses. The slow looks good, the action on his arm was beautiful. He said he felt better than he expected.”
Roberts was then asked if he would start rehabilitation with Triple A before Snell rejoined the big club.
“I think it’s based on how long he’s down. The longer he’s (he’s down), the more likely it is. If it’s on the short side, then it’s probably not.”
Relief’s intense sigh must have had Snell already be starting to throw baseball. As mentioned before, issues related to pitcher shoulders must be taken seriously, especially if the pitcher is in his 30s and has made more than $180 million over five years.
At Snell Down, the relied on Landon Knack and Bobby Miller to pick up Slack. Unfortunately, both pitchers struggled and were sent out afterwards.
