Rohit Sharma, skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team, has a stand named after him at Wangheed Stadium in Mumbai. The Munbai Ricket Association recently approved the stand in the name of the opening batter, along with stands from Sharad Pawl, Ajit Wadekal and Amorkele.

Rohit Sharma’s stand is Divesh Pavilion 3, and will join Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Merchant, Sachin Tendulkar, Dilip Vengsarkar and others, and have a stand named after them at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Having a stand named after him at Wankhede Stadium, Rohit says he will be forever grateful for this, and it was something he never thought of to gain this honor. Rohit also dropped the tips for resignation and said he didn’t know how much cricket he left behind. He said (as quoted by PTI):
“Staking in my name is an unrealistic feeling and I will be grateful for it forever. I don’t know how long you will play, but getting these honors is something I can’t (cannot) imagine.”

As a batter and as captain, Rohit achieved a huge amount of success. As a leader, he recently won the Indian National Cricket Team at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, ending a long drought. However, he brought another silverware to the team, so he didn’t stop afterwards.
