“Welcome to the Ohatani family!” the caption read. “I am grateful to my beloved wife for giving birth to a healthy, beautiful daughter. I would like to thank my daughter for creating extremely nervous and extremely anxious parents, and thank the organization, teammates and fans for their constant support and kind words of encouragement.
“We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all of our health professionals and to all of our support up until this wonderful day.”
The National League MVP did not travel to Texas with the and was on his father’s list on Friday as he and his wife, Mamiko, prepared for the birth of their child.
