Manchester United lost 1-0 against the Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, and Rasmus Hozilund failed to make his mark despite being allowed to lead the line on his side.
Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer has revealed that Manchester United striker lacks shape and confidence. He added that Hojlund is not ready to lead the club’s line. The 22-year-old striker failed to perform well against the wolves, scoring just three goals in the league this season.
Signing Joshua Zilkie for the Summer was also unable to meet expectations. Manchester United looked toothless in their offense this season, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in quality attackers in the summer.
There were rumours that they could try to sell strikers in the summer.
Former England striker Alan Shearer said in his second day match:
“I see a man who doesn’t want to go there. I’m sure his confidence is in danger. He’s in a really difficult situation.
“He’s not in the stages of his career to lead the line, and I’m not saying there aren’t any good players out there.
Man United will need to upgrade Rasmus Hojlund
It’s a disappointing season for Manchester United, and clubs of their height should be fighting for major trophies. It will be interesting to see if they can insert team gaps during the summer transfer period and bounce back harder next season.
They’re sure to have multiple talented players at their disposal, but if you want to match Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, etc., you need more quality. Signing a trustworthy finisher is their number one priority. Hojlund and Zirkzee need more time to grow into important players in the club.
