Arsenal may need to look for new midfielders during the summer transfer period, as the future of some players is uncertain.
Thomas Party, who is very impressive for the Gunners this season, is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
There’s nothing certain about his future, and he could be offloaded to make a way for a new midfielder.
Gorguinho could also leave the club and force gunners to step into the market to sign a new central midfielder.
The North London Club is linked to the moves of Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
But former England international Owen Hargreaves suggests that Arsenal should consider signing a £70 million rated midfielder to replace the club’s parts.
Hargreaves has named Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton as the player the Gunners should target in midfield locations this summer.
While talking about Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Hargreaves said:
“My favorite is Adam Wharton.
“He’s going to join your team (Arsenal).
“When Mikel Arteta saw him, “It’s my man.” If Thomas Party leaves, Wharton is a player.
“It’s his vision with crazy Adam. He’s two steps ahead. His game reading when you see him… his vision and his touch are as good as anyone.
“I want him at Manchester United, but that system is very niche and I think we need feet to play in that position under Reuben Amorim.”
From Adam Wharton to Arsenal?
Wharton has been impressed with Premier League clubs for his performances over the past two seasons.
The young midfielder was even called to the English team by former manager Gareth Southgate.
The gunner may have to pay around £70 million to the palace star, but he is ideal for their midfield and can be the passerby and controller in the middle of the park they need.
Arsenal’s Premier League rival Manchester United is also linked to Wharton’s move, which could make things difficult for gunners.
