Emma Radukanu is pleased with the “unofficial” coaching partnership

Emma Radukanu said he is happy with the “unofficial” arrangement with former player Mark Pecchi after having barely succeeded with many coaches amid form and fitness issues.

“It’s pretty informal for now, but it’s really going well,” Radkanu said.

“I’m still thinking about things. What suits me, what’s useless? What gets the best from me. For now, I’m not as technical as before.”

Ladukanu returned to action after a season break at the Madrid Open this week, saying the former US Open champion has benefited from a more focused approach to the season.

The 22-year-old Britt took a break from qualifying for the Billy Jean King Cup after running to the Miami quarterfinals.

Raducanu, who instead chose the training block, is hoping to go to the Spanish capital, which will launch a campaign with Dutch Susan Lamens on Wednesday.

“I now realize that sometimes less is less for me,” Radkanu told Sky Sports. “I’m really hard, I’m really working really hard and I definitely get to overdo it from time to time.

“When I’m in court, I’m maxing my X time, so I’m just trying to be able to focus, and then when I’m done, I switch better.

“I hear a lot of people need a match and I say the same thing. The match definitely helps, but there’s a time and a place. The season is so long, you sometimes have to reset and get the bearings.”
