According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal midfielder Giorguinho is reportedly expected to leave the club this summer.
As Italian International makes a proposal to Flamengo’s table, Romano, posted to the official X (formerly Twitter), provided the latest updates on Jorginho’s future.
Jorginho becomes a free agent this summer and it appears he is expected to leave Emirates Stadium once the current deal is over.
It appears nothing has been decided yet, but Flamengo has offered him an offer prior to this free transfer, making it seem like a potential destination for the former Chelsea man…
Jorginho is currently injured, but has generally done well in his role as a team player for Arsenal over the past few years.
It’s not always easy to swap out what a 33-year-old brings to a team on and off the pitch.
But it makes sense that Jorginho might feel like he’s in an age where he prefers to play more regularly, even if it means he’s going to fall to a slightly lower level now.
Arsenal was hoping to sign Martin Zubimendi to fill the gap left by Gorguinho
Even if Jorginho had left, the AFC would already appear to be lined up with exchanges.
The gunner has long been linked to real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and Charles Watts has another update with his latest news Catch off side Today’s column.
“I can’t confirm anything about Madrid’s level of interest in Zvimendi. I don’t know about that. But I know that Arsenal expects to get a deal on the real Sociedad Star line,” Watts said.
He added: “Zvimendi is considered an Arsenal priority this summer, and it’s not clear as Giorginho has certainly left and Thomas Party’s future is heading towards the end of the contract.”
