However, Johnson’s next film is a much smaller event, touching close to home for MMA fans.
October, Johnson’s new film Smashing Machine It will be released showing the life of two UFC heavyweight tournament winner Mark Kerr. The film comes from acclaimed director Benny Safdy and will be released by the 2022 Academy Award-winning independent film company A24. Everything is at once anywhere Among other important darlings. It was a big starting point for Johnson, and he told Pat McAfee on Tuesday that he attracted him to the project.

This movie is based on Smashing Machine A documentary detailing Carr ascended to the pinnacle of the MMA world and his battle with intense autumn and subsequent addiction. The film also stars former Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader, who plays UFC Hall of Fame and Kerr’s friend Mark Coleman, as well as several other prominent combat sports figures. Former UFC heavyweight champion Bass Rutten plays himself.
