Giga Chikadze heads to UFC Kansas City for a bounceback performance, but he’s already lost the battle against Scale.

The veteran featherweight candidate ranks 14th in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, but was 147 pounds on official weigh-in Friday, and 1 pound for one pound (including 1 pound allowance) at the event held in Kansas City, Missouri on Saturday. Opponent David Ontama hit the mark for 146 pounds.

MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck confirmed with officials that Chikadze vs. Onama confiscated 20% of his wallet as a penalty, and Chikadze will proceed with a catchweight.

In the top match of the cards, welterweight headliners Ian Machado Garry (171) and Carlos Plates (170) managed to create the weight. Garry, number six in the 170-pound division, is about to rebound from his first defeat after losing a competitive decision to Shabkat Raccomov. On the other side, Pleats is riding all by knockouts to start his UFC career with four consecutive wins.

In the co-main event, 59-time veteran Anthony Smith (206) successfully completed his final walk to the cage. He takes on the light heavyweight batter Jang Min-gyang (206).
