Jake Paul heard criticism about his upcoming battle with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

On Monday, the boxer who turned social influencer went to social media to respond to the backlash against his fight in June, where he took on the 39-year-old veteran, holding a 3-3 record in his past six fights dating back to 2019, with one of those losses coming to former UFC champion Anderson Silva.

Although Chavez held the title during his career, he appears to be far from the fighter who lost a one-sided decision to Canelo Alvarez in 2017, but Paul doesn’t want to hear about it. In fact, Paul says that the fight against Chavez is no different to the recent UFC fight that has earned many headlines.

“Gulio Cesar Chavez Jr. was a former world champion and a world champion in cruiserweight,” Paul said. “I weigh the same as me, the same size as me, and 20 years of professional boxing experience.

“Last week, Paddy Pinblett defeated Michael Chandler and the whole world lost his heart, but he wasn’t one to mention Michael Chandler’s age, because he is still among his main age.

It is true that Chandler turned 39 years old a few days after his battle with Pimblett at UFC 314, but in recent years it has been difficult to compare his work body to Chavez.

Chandler ranked in the top 15 in lightweight by the UFC before losing to Pinblett, and all his previous defeats came to former champions like Dustin Poillier, Justin Goesche and Charles Oliveira.

The same cannot be said about Chavez, who recently became a former UFC fighter Uliahall to slump in Hall’s second professional boxing match in six rounds.

Also, Chavez has never won a cruiserweight title during his career. He fought for a light heavyweight title in 2015, but lost after being stopped in the ninth round.

It is also well documented that Chavez faces personal issues outside the ring. After his arrest, Chavez was admitted to a rehabilitation centre for treatment after openly acknowledging the issue of substance abuse in the past.

Still, Chavez tries to turn the clock back when he faces Paul in a boxing match scheduled for June 28th from Anaheim, California.
