World No. 4 Morikawa split up with long-time caddy JJ Jacovac and reportedly hired Joe Greiner to replace him.

Jakovac confirmed the news of his exit in a text message to Golfweek on Tuesday. First reported by SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio.

Jakovac has been Morikawa’s only caddy since becoming an expert in 2019. He won the PGA Tour six times, including two majors.

First reported by SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio, Greiner’s employment will take a whirlwind for weeks for the veteran caddy.

He decided to say goodbye to his best friend Max Homa in early April.

Greiner then filled out the Masters and RBC legacy with Justin Thomas’ injured Minister Caddy Matt “Rev.” Thomas, the fifth in the world, said the arrangement was temporary until the minister recovers from his illness back.

Morikawa’s six years at Jakovac included victory at the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship. Morikawa last won the Zozo Championship in October 2023.

He finished twice this year in eight events (Sentry in January and Arnold Palmer Invitational in March). For his career, Morikawa has 11 runner-up finishes, two-thirds, 29 top five, and 44 top 10 arrangements, earning 109 out of 129 cuts.

Morikawa and teammate Kurt Kitayama missed a cut at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans last weekend.

The next scheduled event after Morikawa is the Truist Championship in Philadelphia from May 8th to 11th.

This report used information from field-level media.
