Red Bull has raised a protest against Mercedes driver George Russell following the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.

Russell benefited from pitting under the virtual safety car period during the race on Sunday, flying ahead of Max Verstappen, claiming the final spot on the third podium.

Red Bull believes that Russell couldn’t be slow because of the yellow flag when Gabriel Boltreto of Southern Barreto retired on lap 33 with engine trouble.

Verstappen hears Russell listen to the radio to his team to complain that he doesn’t respect the yellow flag.

The Dutch were later told to finish within five seconds by Russell. He crossed the line 2.3 seconds behind the Mercedes driver.

This did not have a message from racial control regarding the investigation.

Red Bull then decided to file a protest against Russell after the race.

Both Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly were summoned to see the stewards on suspicion of violation of Appendix H to Article 2.5.5 of the FIA International Sports Code.

Russell was summoned to see the stewards about the incident following the Red Bull protest.

The British were dissatisfied with bad stomach cramps during the race’s closure phase and did not attend the post-race FIA press conference for medical reasons.
