Two riders were killed in a crash and saw race 2 of the British Supersport Championship Red Flag, which was red flagged at Alton Park BSB.

A total of 11 riders were involved in the Turn 1 crash on the opening lap of Super Sports Race 2 in Super Sports Race 2. This led to cancellations of remaining scheduled races, including Supersport Race 2 and BSB Race 3.

Of the 11 riders involved, three were seriously injured.

Among these were Shane Richardson, 29, and Owen Jenner, 21.

“Owen Jenner (21) was initially treated on trackside and then taken to a circuit medical center, where despite further resuscitation treatment, he died of catastrophic head injuries,” reads a statement released by the BSB promoter MSVR and “authorized” body, MCRCB.

“Shane Richardson, 29, was initially treated on the trackside and was then taken to Circuit Medical Center before being transported to the Crew University Hospital.

Tom Tunstall, 47, was taken to a hospital suffering from “serious back and abdominal injuries.”

Five more riders suffered minor injuries at the patrol medical centre. These were Carl Harris, Max Morgan, Cameron Hall, Freddie Burns and Morgan McLaren Wood.

Three riders were involved in the incident, but three riders, Lewis Jones, Corey Tinker and George Edwards, were not injured.
