Nikola Jokic gave an interesting response to the unique chant by OKC Thunder Crowd in Game 1.

The Denver Nuggets barely rested before they scored the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round of the playoffs.

However, that didn’t matter as the Nuggets left with a two-point victory over the Thunder in the claw-biting Game 1 contest.

As expected, Nikola Jokic was the star of the show. However, given that it is a road game for the nuggets, the OKC crowd did their best to ruin Jokic’s focus.

The Joker is widely considered the best center in the NBA today. The important reason behind it is his ability to influence the game in all respects.

This includes knocking down free throws if necessary. In Game 1, Jokic shot 10/13 from the free throw line.

Seeing the Joker live in charity stripes, the OKC crowd became frustrated and showered him with a chant of “Free Throw Merchant.”

To this, Jokic replied: “To be honest, I didn’t hear it. But it’s a bit funny.”

Before coming to the NBA, Djokic played for Serbia. The crowds over there are known for their over-hymns. So being called a free throw merchant would have had little effect on the Joker.

However, due to the surprise of the reporter, Jokic didn’t even hear the hymn, despite finding it interesting.

The second round matchup between the Nuggets and Thunder is a direct competition between the top two MVP candidates this season.

As a result, many NBA fans were glued to the screen for the opening matchup of the series. Now, in Game 1 we’ll go to Jokic and Nuggets.

Jokic reminded the fans of his talent as he won with 42 points, 22 rebounds and six assists. He also had seven turnovers. This is something the Joker may need to restrain the Nuggets to win the series.
