LeBron James frowned upon comments as he began the La Lakers playoff exit for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The La Lakers ended the NBA playoffs in the opening round, suffering a 4-1 series loss for the second year in a row.
For LeBron James, Exit was particularly disappointing at the age of 40, but his time at the top level quickly ran out.
After a season-ending Game 5 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron James made a frowned comment.
James mentioned the team lacking the center and Anthony Davis exit, saying, “My guy (Anthony Davis) said what he needed, and he was the following week.”
It’s been a few days since the La Lakers exit and Lebron James’ choice of words were still seen as odd.
Speaking to ESPN LA, Ramona Shelburne expressed her views on LeBron James’ comments.
She said: “I thought it was disrespectful to the organization.”
Shelburne also said the comments would flatten out, even if they were meant in a lighthearted way.
“Maybe it was a joke, I wasn’t in the room and he laughed afterwards, but after playing in the playoffs, I don’t know if you’re going to make that joke.
“I also thought it was rude to Luka for the ads, but for most of the organization, they got Luka Donsic.”
“You don’t say no to it. You don’t trade ads because he asked for the center. They weren’t mad at Anthony.
Anthony Davis voiced his desire to play for power forward before the trade, but he also expressed this as something he had said for years.
Lakers Jeannie Bass president revealed what she made after the deal and expressed that she didn’t think Donsic would become an achievable target for the team until the Mavericks approach them.
LeBron James’ own individual performances in the playoffs were reliable. He averaged 25.4 points per game while five games played.
James also averages 9.0 rebounds per game and averages 40 minutes per matchup, statistics show. He gave it all, but the gas was gone, especially in the fourth quarter of the game.
The real problem comes back to the same problem, LeBron James was asked to do too much because of the Lakers’ roster flaws.
General Manager Rob Perinka vowed to resolve this in the offseason, accepting the “important issues” that have been missing teams in the playoffs.
LeBron’s comments may not have worked out, but in the heat of the moment after the squashed playoff exit, his frustration is somewhat understandable.
