The Los Angeles recall right-handed pitcher Matt Saur, who placed right-handed Evan Phillips on the injured list.

Sauer has allowed two runs in 2.70 ERAs in 6.2 innings this season. He returns to the team after posting a 1.84 ERA in 14.2 innings at Triple A Oklahoma City.
Phillips spends time on IL to recover from the discomfort in his throwing arm forearm while the ‘ pitching injuries continue to pile up.

The 30-year-old Reliever has yet to allow him to run this season in seven appearances. He allowed two walks and four hits in a total of 5.2 innings, while adding six strikeouts.
Phillips is finishing his productive 2024 campaign, finishing with just 17 walks over 3.62 ERA, 63 strikeouts and over 54.2 innings. He also led Team 18 saves for the Steam near the clear cut for most of the season.
The postseason saw similar domination from Phillips on his way to the World Series, but Phillips pitched only over the NLC as the torn rotor cuffs stood by him through the fall classic. Before the injury, the right-hander made six strikeouts and allowed three walks and three hits in 6.2 October innings.
He now hopes that he returns to Illinois, where he began the season, and that the discomfort in his forearm will disappear and he can return to the mound.
