MotoGP Championship leader Alex Marquez says Ducati’s GP24 gave an instant “wow” factor from his first lap on the car in the Barcelona test last November.
“When I first tried it in Catalonia, this bike is really good to ride,” explained Alex.
“On the first day you use a new bike, one lap is really fast, but it’s not consistent because you don’t know how the bike will respond.
“But I was able to fast in one lap, was fast and was fast and I already knew what the bike would do.”
The confidence gained from that first Test continued during the preseason Test, followed by the opening round, with Alex finishing seven times in a row.
“We continued to develop and continue to trend the first tests of all pre-season tests. The GP24 gives me the confidence I need as I want, just like my style,” he said.

After a sixth blip due to the incident and penalty in Qatar, the 29-year-old rebounded in second place in the Jerez sprint before winning a milestone at the Grand Prix.
To put his performance in sight, Alex scored only one podium finish in the entire 2024 season, third in the tricky GP23. He has already been on the verge of breaking the entire point from the 2023 and 2024 (Sprint) seasons.
Gresini Rider leads the Mark brothers with a one-point title in the latest factory GP25.
“This bike is very natural and has a lot of adaptation to all styles (riders), so you don’t need to adapt to a lot of bikes. It’s a really perfect bike.
“So, if you want to brake. It’s there. If you’re a rider who likes more flow, or if you like more to go to gas, it’s there.”
Ducati has been unbeaten at Le Mans for the past five years, winning with five different riders.
Wins by Ducati riders on Sunday will also set up new MotoGP records for 23 Grand Prix wins in succession
