Davey Todd of 8ten Racing said that the path that his Saturday continued at North West 200 was “eating me” before winning this week’s second Superstock race.
Todd took 20 seconds to Michael Dunlop, who made two mistakes on his first lap in his career class on Thursday.
Todd and his 8ten racing teammate Peter Hickman were also frustrated after the superbike race after the decision not to punish Dunlop for not stopping him on the first lap.
Then, in Super Sports Race 2, Todd suffered from another technical issue with his Paget Honda CBR600RR and was unable to maintain his podium competition.
The dominant National Superstock champion said he was “dismissed” for the way his Saturday went up to the Superstock race after winning from Superstock Race 2.
“I was fired quite a bit after today went away,” Todd said in a post-race interview with BBC Sport NI.
“(Superbike racing) has been eating me up, and then I had a bit of technical issues in supersport racing.
“We didn’t wish you good luck this time, but the boys at 8ten Racing did an amazing job in such a short time to put these bikes together.
“Literally, we’re trying to test something new because we didn’t have a test. I have to give up on them, so they did a great job, and once again we have both bikes on the podium. I was really excited about it.”
Todd said he enjoyed the race at the Superstock race on Saturday.
“We also have a great race with Dean (Harrison),” he said.
“It’s always great to fight Dean, and it’s always difficult but fair.
“Honda has the speed straight on his back. Every time Dean comes to me, he pulls all the stickers out of the side of the bike, scaring me when he actually comes.
“I was really excited and managed to get the victory. I feel like Superstock is always my strongest class.”
