The in Los Angeles are constantly amazed by the talent of Otani.
Otani has surpassed expectations with the in his second year, from a 50-stolen base season on the first contract of an MVP, World Series, MLB’s first 50 home runs and the first contract with Los Angeles.

Specifically, Arizona’s Friday night thriller marked another level of Otani’s already otherworldly talent, including nine innings of six runs after falling to the Diamondbacks 11-8. Two ons and games were tied to Ohtani on the plate, with the three-inning MVP slamming the three-run shot to give an exclamation point for the 14-11 victory.
Manager Dave Roberts compared his former teammates from his playing days, the seventh inning National League MVP, after a match in star power brought by Otani.
“Whether he’s and Barry Bond, they’re the two best players I’ve ever seen,” Roberts said. “I played with Barry. But what Shuhai does with the clutch – I’ve never seen anything like he does with the clutch.”
Bond has scored the most home runs in MLB history, and he praises the superstar for such a flattery, especially given the skipper’s comments about what Otani can do in the clutch moment.
As a player, Roberts spent the 2007 season with Bond for the San Francisco Giants.
Otani shows his ability to come back to life in the clutch moments, and it appears he continues to do something already special for him. Otani has the advantage of being a deadly pitcher when he’s healthy, as both Otani and Bonds have proven to be some of the most prolific bats baseball has ever seen.
He has yet to make his debut as a pitcher in uniforms, but Otani has a career age of 3.01 in MLB. Perhaps the blows on his clutch will be translated to the mound when he is healthy enough to throw.
