MMA Pond Pond Rankings: Jack Dera Maddarena, Alexander Volkanovsky moves to the top 10

Alexander Volkanovsky? And again.

Della Maddalena and Volkanovski looked after the business in their respective title fights at UFC 315 and UFC 314. Della Maddalena abdicated welterweight champions Belal Muhammad and Volkanovski, winning two featherweight titles with the Diego Lopes.

These results were involved in the shake-up of the male pound pound rankings for MMA Fighting in May. Muhammad entered UFC 315 with No. 5 on our list, reducing eight spots to No. 13 after being short on the first title defense. Meanwhile, Della Maddalena advances all the way from unranking to 9th place after claiming her 18th straight win with Gold. The new champions have not lost professional matches since starting 0-2 in 2016 and will have the opportunity to turn their rankings upside down when they face Islamic Makachev later this year.

As for Volkanovski, he jumps from No. 13, the highest ranking since July 2024, to 8th place. When Volkanovski was knocked out by Ilia Topuria at UFC 298, he was naturally thought to have fallen into several spots, with the 36-year-old only continuing to fall. Instead, with his exciting performance against the ropes, “Great” is not only the UFC champion again, but he has the opportunity to stroll around the top 10 a little longer.

Also, since this latest update in March, former champion Leon Edwards has suffered a biased defeat from Sean Brady. Still, Brady wasn’t enough to land his place yet (though he won multiple votes), but it sent Edwards from 12 on the spiral all the way out of the charts. it hurts.

And John Jones? He keeps dropping. Someone fight the buddy.

Thanks to Natalia Silva and Verna Giandirova, there was a lot of movement on the women’s side. Brazilian standout continues to make their claims by postponing Balentina Shevchenko vs. Zhang Weili Superfight as Silva makes a clear decision over former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso at UFC 315 and Jandiroba has made his fifth straight win over his recent straw-hat title at UFC 314 Yan Xiaonan.

While there is a full possibility that Zhang will move to fight Shevchenko, Silva and Jandiroba not only deserve a championship opportunity, but they also played a role in rocketing up their list of pounds for pounds. Silva soared 11 spots on No. 5 and became a tie alongside Manon Fiorotto.
