When the Los Angeles called out Heisen Kim from a minor, manager Dave Roberts said it would serve as a temporary replacement for Tommy Edman as the 26-year-old spent time recovering from an ankle injury.

However, after 13 games, the find themselves with questions that are very difficult to answer. Should Kim be sent back to Triple A once Edman is activated from the injured list?
It’s the question that many fans want answers and hope Kim stays with the big league team.
Kim hits .452 on one home run, five runs hit and hits with 1.065 OPS across the 33 plate appearance. The infielder tied the Rookie record by reaching safely with the appearance of a straight plate in the nine innings.
“He’s just holding a magic wand now,” Roberts said. “He’s got a good hit and put the ball in play, and when he can do that, good things can happen.”
The signed Kim a three-year, $12.5 million contract in the offseason. Kim appeared to serve as the team’s main dual baseman after the traded Gavin Lux for the Cincinnati Reds a few days later.
However, Kim began her minor season due to a struggle at the plate during spring training. Just a month after the 2025 campaign, Kim was recalled after a hot start from Triple A Oklahoma City.
Since arriving in the Big League, Kim has consistently influenced the lineup. The infielder replied whether he was worried about being sent.
“I’m just going to play baseball. When I’m on the field, I’m just playing baseball. I’m trying to ride the bass,” Kim said through an interpreter. “It’s hard to guess. It’s hard to predict what will happen in the future.”
Kim isn’t sure if his stint in the majors will be extended, but he’s focused on enjoying the moment.
“It was fun,” he added. “It’s not an easy opportunity, so I’m really enjoying it right now.”
