Palmer’s recent form for ChelseaSignature that can help resolve the drought of Chelsea targetsBetter Signature than Osimhen: Chelsea give a lecture to land “Next Haaland”

Chelsea certainly have problems in front of goals this season. The Blues are with some of the top scorers in the Premier League, but they found the back of the net in the 63rd inning, but they certainly hope to be a bit wanted at times.

To be modest, they have not been achieved badly with the tally of expected targets. On the side of Enzo Maresca, there is a predicted target of 70.51xg. In other words, they are beyond the eight goals that should be the term. Of the aspects with over 60 goals, they are the least successful side of the expected goal.

Well, perhaps one reason they’ve struggled recently is in the form of Cole Palmer.

Palmer’s recent form for Chelsea

Despite describing Palmer in October as “the best player in the Premier League,” it was a months-long lean form for England International.

He certainly saw a decline in targets and support numbers over the past few weeks.

The term, overall, was once again fruitful for Palmer, as it supports goals and perspectives. He managed a total of 24 combined and was featured in 36 games for the Blues in the Premier League.

However, the 22-year-old has recently fallen into a long-targeted drought. He actually went to 12 games without a goal, and even at that point he got three assists. He finished the run with a penalty against Liverpool in a 3-1 victory.

The drought at Palmer’s goal certainly had an impact on Chelsea’s struggle in front of the goal, but perhaps the fact that it’s difficult to come from elsewhere too. According to Sofascole, Nicholas Jackson is the only other person in the double goal numbers this season.

Given that Palmer has created 23 big opportunities, it appears they need another presence in advance to prevent their charm from playing again. They have recently linked to someone who can provide answers to their struggles.

So it seems like Bruce needs number 9 to help get the ball into the back of the net more often. Now, as BBC Sports’ Nizaar Kinsella reported earlier this week, the move from one of the heaviest linked forwards, Victor Osimhen, “is not ruled out at this stage.”

The striker, valued at £64 million by Tuttosport last month, may be the man Chelsea needed to fix the issue in front of the goal. He is currently enjoying a successful season in front of Galatasaray’s goal, where he is lending it from Naples.

In this term, Nigeria’s international has 33 goals in 38 matches for the Turkish club, six of which have made seven appearances in the Europa League. This included two strikes against Chelsea’s London rival Tottenham Hotspur in the group stage.

The 26-year-old certainly has his eye on goal, but this has been the case throughout his Naples career. He scored 76 goals in the famous blue shirt from Gli Azzurri that comes in just 133 games. In the 2022/23 Scudetto season, we saw them find the back of the net 26 times in 32 games.

Osimhen’s underlying figures over the past 365 days show why, courtesy of FBREF, Chelsea can score more goals and lift Palmer to even greater heights. For example, strikers average 0.88 goals per game, ranking in the top 4% of European strikers.

It’s no doubt that the £64 million needed to sign Osimhen is reportedly a major investment, but that may be what Bruce needs. Palmer is a coincidence machine, and with the striker’s record and excellent fundamental statistics, he can make him reach even higher heights and reach the end of all the opportunities he creates.

This seems to be the deal Chelsea needs to get it done before others beat it. As Statman Dave said, he is “the best striker on the market” at the moment, and the Blues simply can’t be overlooked.
