Draymond Green explains why Stephen Curry didn’t want the Minnesota Timberwolves to return.

The Golden State Warriors had no answers to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2025 Western Conference semi-finals.

Stephen Curry’s absence was considered the biggest reason behind it as the Dubs experienced a 4-1 series defeat. Curry suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 and did not return to the entire series.

Although he had little understanding of the severity of Steph’s injuries, some called the 4x NBA champion because they weren’t trying to play in Game 5.

Warriors veteran Draymond Green played 13 seasons alongside the Babyface assassin. Meanwhile, the duo established a relationship that went beyond basketball.

Greene recently spoke about Curry’s injuries and why he was happy that the 37-year-old decided not to return to the Timberwolves.

“We’ve seen Steph get injured a million people: hamstrings, quads, calves, muscles.

“If he gave us 70%, I still say no. That’s not the answer,” Green said.

Simply put, Greene didn’t want Curry to make his injury worse and play under 100% in court. Even though the warriors had to be eliminated, sitting in the series makes sense when the big picture is taken into consideration.

There is no guarantee that even a curry performance would have ended in the Warriors’ favor, but let’s put that on the back burner.

After Dub’s playoff elimination, Curry focused on the future of the Warriors and gave his honest opinion on the team’s offseason plans.

The addition of Jimmy Butler is a tool move, so I’m sure Curry can get it to work with the current roster.

However, if the Warriors want to go in a different direction, there is always the option to navigate the offseason trade market.
