Ai Ogura is aiming to return to Aragon Motogp after leg surgery

Trackhouse Aprileia Rookie Ai Ogura hopes he has successfully undergone surgery with a broken leg and will be able to compete next weekend with the MotoGp Aragon Grand Prix.

Ai Ogura suffered a nasty crash on FP1 at British Grand Prix at Silverstone last weekend.

The Japanese riders actually completed a lap with Silverstone before abandoning the rest of the weekend. At that point, the full extent of his injuries was discovered.

Truckhouse confirmed Wednesday evening that Ogra had a successful operation with a leg injury and hopes to recover well enough to make it to next week’s Aragon Grand Prix.

“The surgery was done,” Ogura said.

“I think everything went well and I think it’s pretty ok with my knees.

“It takes a little time to get back to 100% fitness.

“It’s very difficult and I’ll see if I can reach Aragon. I’m trying to do what I can to recover my feet, but in these situations I can’t do much.

Ogura has enjoyed a solid rookie season in the premier class of satellite Aprilia so far, scoring his best score of fifth place in the opening round of the campaign in Thailand.

For most of the season, Ogra was a major rider for Aprilia, but came in 12th with 10th place in the championship and 43 points and 13 points arrivals from lead rookie Fermin Aldegar.

The truck house doesn’t need to replace Ogra if Aragon proves unsuitable to compete, but the long spell on the bystander causes headaches as Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Sabadoli is currently acting as a proxy for the injured Jorge Martin in Mark’s factory team.
