Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate are dual citizens of the UK and the US and face 21 criminal charges in the UK, including controlling rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and prostitution for prostitution. The Crown Prosecutor’s Office (CPS) confirmed the claim this week and marked the time the full list was first published. Andrew Tate, 38, is charged with 10 crimes related to three allegedly victims, while Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges related to one victim.

The charges stem from an investigation by Bedfordshire Police from 2012 to 2015. CPS approved the charges in 2024. The brothers denied all allegations against them.

Andrew Tate is a former combat sports athlete and social media personality who has gained notoriety for his online presence, promoting wealth lifestyles and self-explained misogyny. He and his sibling Tristan moved to Luton, England with their mother after their parents’ divorce, and later became known for their online business and influencer activities.

British prosecutors confirmed Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate face a total of 21 criminal charges in the UK. The full list of charges, as outlined in the Crown Prosecutor’s Service, is:

Andrew Tate (10 charges related to three victims):

  • rape
  • Physical harm
  • Human trafficking
  • Controlling prostitution for profit

Tristan Tate (11 charges related to one victim):

  • rape
  • Physical harm
  • Human trafficking

Andrew Tate and his brother were first arrested in December 2022 on separate charges of forming an organized criminal group that was raped, trafficked and exploited women. They were charged in Romania in 2023, and new allegations emerged in 2024 involving sex with minors and minors of human trafficking. Both brothers spent several months under house arrest and have consistently denied all Romanian accusations.

In March 2024, after Bedfordshire police obtained an arrest warrant, a Romanian court approved the extradition of Tates to the UK. However, delivery is pending until Romanian legal proceedings are completed. Earlier this year, Romanian authorities lifted the ban on travel for the brothers and allowed them to travel to the United States in February 2025. They returned to Romania in March 2025 and stated their intention to follow ongoing investigations and clear their names in both countries.

In the UK, the brothers also face civil lawsuits from women who alleged rape and assault, with separate lawsuits underway. British prosecutors stressed that Tates was presumed to be innocent until proven guilty, and that criminal cases were aggressive and continued. The situation remains fluid, with both criminal and civil proceedings going in multiple jurisdictions.
