On Wednesday, OKC defeated the Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals with a 124-94 victory. Again, it was a dominant performance from Thunder’s Shy Gilgauss Alexander. He finished Game 5 with 34 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals. By securing a berth in the NBA Finals, SGA helped etch his name into history books.
He has earned the regular season MVP in the last 20 years and is the fourth player to play the NBA Finals in the same season. Gilgeous-Alexander joins Kobe Bryant, Lebron James (2x) and Michael Jordan (2x). In his historic 2024-25 season, the SGA has made his point to become the face of the NBA. Apart from a massive collapse by Indiana, they could face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals.
