Marc Marquez says Ducati can’t wait until the next test is homologged, so he wants his Aragon motoGP test day to focus on the new aerodynamic package.

Ducati abandoned the original 2025 aero package after pre-season testing, returned to the 2024 specs, ready for the opening race, and developed more new concepts.

In Monday’s Post-Argon Grand Prix Test, Mark Marquez spent the day evaluating the new aero, third fastest with a 1M45.749S.

Championship leader Marquez didn’t go into details about the new aero, but he responded positively.

“Essentially, we concentrated most of the day on that new aero package, because the next test is Misano, and it’s too late for the company to get a new aero package,” he said.

“It was a few positives, I did lap times with that aero package, but it was very close in the standard package.

“Now we need to understand it because it was a different combination. Now we need to understand which one is the best.”

Marc Marquez is heavier on the Pecco Bagnaia Braking Breakthrough

At the Aragon Grand Prix on Sunday, Marquez’s teammate Pecco Bagnaia said she moved forward with confidence from the front end after switching to a different sized brake disc.

Ducati said it was an unprecedented idea, explaining that Bagnaia could reduce brake pressure and slow it down better.

Bagnaia and Fabio Di Giannantonio spent the much bigger brakes on Aragon Test Day, but Marquez doesn’t really make a difference for him.

“For me, there’s no difference between both discs,” he said.

“It’s just the temperature. It’s true that it’s the last part when you’re 355mm and you like to brake and give a lot of feedback, but there’s more power (brakes) in the straight line.

“But you can use two or three brake points in the circuit.

“For example, here it’s turn 1 and 16 turns. The other brakes aren’t completely braked. If that’s something, 355mm is a bit heavy.”
