Los Angeles All-Star triad Max Muncie has come a long way to get to where he is in baseball life, but little memory has happened to the clutch home runs, championships and fans.
Muncie revealed to Snation’s Doug McCain that he has almost retired from baseball after two years of stints in Auckland track and field.

“Well, after Auckland, I was actually quite dead by retiring,” Muncie said. “I had the offer to play for (the Korean baseball organization) and I really didn’t want to take it. Retirement was a pretty dead set.
“After sitting on the couch for three or four weeks, I realized I wanted to give another shot.
In 2016, Muncie played his final innings in athletics, in Limbo’s condition. He was hitting just .195 in 96 games in total and thought his time in MLB was over.
Luckily, the third baseman did not retire and spent 2017 in the ‘ minor leagues. Muncy hit a .309 in Triple A and had over 110 games in Oklahoma City, with a .905 OPS, hoping to jump to MLB next season.
In mid-April 2018, Muncie returned to the show. The rest is history.
The slasher had a .263/.391/.582 slash line to help the secure a second straight National League pennant. Muncie finished 15th in the MVP voting in a return to the Major League Baseball.
The following season, Muncie won his first All-Star honors while posting the best war of his career at 5.3. Muncie then posted an OPS for October’s OPS .904 on his way to victory in the 2020 World Series.
Now with three pennants and a championship pair in his name, Muncie appears to have been updated in 2025 with a .279 batting average and .991 OPS in his last 20 matches. He had 17 RBIs and scored six home runs over that span.
Muncie has 199 career home runs in uniforms. In his next one, he becomes the eighth player in franchise history and scores 200 home runs as a .
