Charles Leclerc rejected the proposal to quit the Ferrari F1 team.

According to reports in Italian media, Leclair claims he is thinking about his future at Ferrari, despite being signed with Scuderia until 2029.

The report suggests that Leclerc has lost faith in Ferrari and is “looking around” at potential opportunities as he is unhappy with the team’s lack of competitiveness after a challenging start to the 2025 season.

However, Leclerc tickles speculation by reaffirming his commitment to Ferrari and stating his “surprise” in rumors.

“I’m very surprised. I mean, I don’t know where it came from, so yeah, I just want to ignore it,” Leclerc preceded the F1 Canada Grand Prix this weekend.

“I’ve never said anything about this in the last few races. If anything, I keep saying how much I like the team and want to bring Ferrari back to the top, which is why I was surprised.

“We certainly have a vision that we share as (a) three. You know, Fred, Lewis and I are about to get back to winning.

“And we’ve been working to put it all together. So, yeah, this is certainly our plan, and I think we should stick to it.”

Leclerc sits fifth in the drivers championship, 92 points ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri after just nine races, while Ferrari is McLaren’s huge 197-point drift in the builder’s ranking.

Ferrari failed to provide Leclair and teammate Lewis Hamilton with a car that still could win the Grand Prix.

Leclerc is stunned by Ferrari rumors

Leclerc quickly pointed out that speculation surrounding Ferrari and the team’s performance was nothing new to him.

“Pressure, we’re already under a lot of pressure, and of course there are some talks that it’s not something you want to hear,” he said.

“But it’s pressure that has it. When you’re working at Ferrari, the second is by no means enough. But we all know that.

“So outside pressure isn’t affecting the pressure we put ourselves in the first place. We want to win, and as I keep saying, that’s not enough.

“But I’m not the only one who says that not all teams know that it’s not enough and that Ferrari should win.

“That’s what we put all our thoughts into. We’re trying to get Ferrari back to the top. At the moment, McLaren is a stronger team and it’s up to us to respond.

“But yeah, we definitely need to forget everything about what is being said around the team, but I think that’s something I’ve become accustomed to for years.

“Obviously, the questions are clearly directed towards a specific topic and not necessarily a good thing, so there are more rumors and most can deal with you. But I understand that.

“And at the end of the day, that’s how Ferrari is, and it’s always the case. So you have to deal with it, but I don’t think we’re affected by it.”
