Manchester United officially took part in a growing race to sign French striker Hugo Ekitique, according to Sky Sports Reporter Flori Amplettenberg.
The Premier League Giants have been in direct contact with Eintracht Frankfurt within the past 48 hours, expressing serious interest in the 22-year-old forward.
United also reportedly gathered all the necessary details on Ekitique’s availability, financial demands and Frankfurt’s stance.
The Red Devils’ interest is no surprise given the need for versatile strikers to bolster their offensive options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Ekitike moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Frankfurt after struggling with a consistent few minutes in Ligue 1, rediscovering his form in Germany, and is now one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards.
Man United is taking part in the competitive pursuit, including Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea.
Both clubs have been tracking Ekichike for several months and were impressed by his return in the Bundesliga.
However, the path to protecting Ekitike’s signatures is not easy. Eintracht Frankfurt gave the French a large price tag of 100 million euros.
It is still not clear whether any of the clubs of interest are willing to meet that rating, but Man United’s interest is genuine.
Competition between Premier League clubs is difficult
With the three biggest clubs in England currently circulating, the coming weeks will be important in determining Ekitike’s next destination.
As it stands, Frankfurt holds the cards and will not rush to sell them unless their ratings are met.
United’s interest in Ekitike shows its market ambitions as he has already signed wolves Matheus Cunha and is looking to target Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Media reports also linked the Red Devils to Crystal Palace attacker Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer.
