Liverpool reportedly don’t think they’ll be able to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s left wing Bradley Barcola this summer, as the League One giants want to protect him.
The 22-year-old Barcola has shown himself as an outstanding young talent, scoring 27 goals in 97 appearances since joining PSG in recent years.
France International has been linked as Liverpool’s ambitious transfer target in the Sun Report, but there is now another update.
Foot Mercato also claims that Reds Want Barcola and Bayern Munich want Barcola, but PSG’s plan is to continue the former Lyon star.
This isn’t too surprising, as his manager, Louis Enrique, previously described him as “great” according to a quote that gets French football news.
Does Liverpool need Bradley Barcola?
Barcola is clearly an outstanding offensive talent, aiming for the pace, skills and goals that strengthen almost every team in the world.
Still, Liverpool already has stock in that area of the team, with Florian Wurtz in particular now locked in the move to Anfield, as reported by the Athletics and others.
According to BBC Sport, Barcola’s arrival would only make sense if the LFC offloaded someone like Luis Diaz, who was targeted by Barcelona, but added that Columbia International is not on sale.
Barcola can still be added to the PSG legacy
Barcola could hold an additional competition in search of a place in the PSG’s starting lineup following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who will be joining the club in January, but he clearly has what he needs to succeed in Parc Des Princes.
PSG is keen to ensure that they build around such talented young French players, and Barcola should continue to improve only in the next few years.
Barcola, who has been involved in PSG’s high-pitched success last season, has no real reason to leave the club, even if Liverpool is an attractive project.
