Kevin Durant is again in the trade market and is interested in some teams getting him.
The NBA Insiders reported that the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timber Wolves will be two final teams in the competition, but the likes of the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs are still unexcluded.
The 36-year-old is still one of the league’s best scorers, averaging 26 points with the Phoenix Suns in the 2024-25 season.
However, Brian Windhorst previously reported that he was certainly considering the team was about to trade Kevin Durant.
One reason behind that is that the Suns are in the second apron and have three players on the maximum contract. This made it impossible for them to add depth to their roster.
With KD appearing on the trade bloc, many teams have expressed interest in bringing him in, but Kendrick Perkins believes that the previous MVP is no longer “needle movement.”
Perkins and Durant were OKC teammates, but the former started their television careers, and their relationships have fallen apart.
The former NBA player agreed that Durant is the highest scorer ever, but his stint and Suns in Brooklyn nets have said he has proven he is no longer the same needle mover.
“If I’m on a team and you’re trying to get Kevin Durant, I’ll approach with caution. I won’t give up on the house to bring Kevin Durant. Sorry,” Perkins said of a team that could trade with Durant.
“Kevin Durant is the best ever. Kevin Durant is the greatest scorer I’ve ever seen with my two eyes, but for the past few years, Kevin Durant hasn’t been a needle mover.”
Three-time NBA champion Danny Green disagreed with Perkins’ comments and cited an example of the Golden State Warriors where KD has an impact.
He states:
“You have Draymond. You don’t have to be an Alpha. He becomes a scorer and you can be with Steph and Draymond.
“If they can hold Jimmy on that, it makes them a really good group, but maybe they have to give up Jimmy.”
Durant’s numbers prove that he can help his team win the championship.
The Suns’ early exit wasn’t entirely Durant’s fault as they put their best efforts into leading the team, but they didn’t have the right pieces to become the winner.
At 36, the team is about to trade with him for his ability to influence the game.
Not only can he get the ball efficiently, but in recent years KD has raised his defensive game, averaging on average for every game he has won three straight games.
The young player still takes a lot of inspiration from his game and he will move to any franchise.

With a report that emerged Phoenix is ready to lower the asking price, KD can actually trade with teams who can compete even after giving up on picks and a handful of players.
His Trade to the Suns rocked the roster, and important works like Mikal Bridge and Come Johnson were also involved in the deal.
However, this time he appears in the final year of his deal and the Sands are desperately searching for a deal, so KD may be able to find himself in a better situation.
