As for how much the 25-year-old will help with the sick pitching roster, his impending revitalization is ideal at this point. More than three Triple A’s started with this season’s rehabilitation assignment, with Sheehan throwing 16 strikeouts on one walk in 9.1 innings.
Additionally, Sheehan threw five punch-outs, walks, hits and a run he acquired in Arizona’s complicated league inning pair ahead of the Triple-A transfer.
During his final right-handed hours on the show, his 2023 rookie season, he dealt with a 26-step job with 60 strikeouts over 60.1 innings. He also allowed 33 runs to score during this period, finishing the year with an ERA+ 88, about 12 points below the league average.
Sheehan ended the year with many promises as it was expected to become a much larger part of the pitching roster in 2024.
After six no-hit innings in his MLB debut with the San Francisco Giants, there was a slightly more impressive start to be expected from the younger pitchers. However, his final seven outings in 2023 consisted of a 3.19 ERA to go with 42 strikeouts up to just 10 walks.
There are 14 pitchers on the injured list – Sheehan is one of them – the 25-year-old is trying to make the most of his moments and return to the show, and regain some of his magic since ’23.
