Liverpool was ambitious with a contract during the summer transfer period.
The Reds wereted no time securing a replacement for Trent Alexander Arnold by signing Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremy Fripon.
They also agreed to a deal to sign Florian Wiltz from Leverkusen in a record move for the club.
Arne Slot builds a strong team for the upcoming season and continues his successful spell at Anfield.
As Bournemouth’s Milos Kerquez approaches his move to Anfield, their transfer deal is set to last for the coming weeks.
However, Slot and his recruiting team may have to admit defeat in the pursuit of one of the offensive targets.
Liverpool loses the race to sign Victor Osimchen
According to Sky Sports Reporter Flori Amplettenberg, Galatasaray hopes to separate one of the most ambitious relocations in history as he continues to seek a permanent signature of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
He posted an update to his X account:
“Galathasaray is optimistic about securing a permanent signature for Victor Osimhen, despite the re-enter British clubs in the race over the past three to four days.”
Interest has been growing from several Premier League clubs these days, but the Turkish champions have not retreated in pursuit of Nigeria’s international.
The Nigerian striker has linked his move to Liverpool this summer, with the Reds holding an internal meeting to discuss the possibility of signing the attacker.
Galatasaray, who won the league title last season, has announced a highly competitive contract offer to Osimhen, worth between 15 million and 20 million euros per year on net salary.
Galatasaray offers strong financial offers
This puts them in a strong financial position and the proposed wage package could match or exceed what some Premier League clubs currently offer.
However, the main hurdle for negotiations lies in the payment structure of Osimhen’s 75 million euro release clause. Napoli, which has a solid reputation for strikers, requires as little installments as possible.
Galatasaray is able to trigger release clauses, but is promoting more flexible terms, hoping to spread payments across multiple windows.
Galatasaray believes that if they can reach a deal with Napoli for the payment structure, they can still close the deal and beat the Premier League club.
