If one player’s predictions are realized, the Chicago Bulls will be able to get a Megastar in their hands.

Had the coin toss been on the way, the Chicago Bulls would have landed the lottery number draft number that was transformed into the number one pick of the Dallas Mavericks in the 2025 NBA Draft.

While missing the Cooper Flag is a tough blow to the franchise, one former player previously claimed that the Bulls have their own version.

Kendall Gill argues that Matas Buselis could be a better player than Flag. This is a bold claim about the player the Bulls scooped with their 11th pick in the 2024 draft.

Now, following his rookie year with the Bulls, there is even more praise for Matas Buzelis.

Chicago Bulls star Ayo Dosam is well aware of Matas Buselis after spending the 2024/25 season with him. He is very impressed.

Talking to BasketNews, Dosunmu compared Buzelis to Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He states:

“He’s 6-10, 6-11 and he keeps getting stronger, so if he keeps getting to the weight room, he’s only getting bigger.

“I think he will continue to grow that way over and over in that way he can finish, rebound and he can control the game.

Comments from Dosunmu have been highly praised, setting an incredibly high bar for Matas Buzelis to live, but it means the faith his Chicago Bulls counterpart has in him.

Matas Buzelis was the 11-year-old Chicago Bulls’ first round steel, similar to how Giannis Antetokounmpo was drafted at 3pm in 2013.

Buzelis’ moderate freshman figures can be seen above, averaging 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. His shooting map shows just how shocking he was around the edge.

However, it is also important to note the number of newcomers in Giannis Antetokounmpo. He only played 23 games and averaged 6.8 points per game. The following year he averaged 12.7 ppg.

He averaged over 20ppg for the first time in 2016-17, his fourth season in the league.

There’s plenty of time for the 20-year-old Buselis to start working towards these numbers.
