Discussing the situation at left-back, Watts explained that Arsenal will not let Calafiori go this summer.
However, he added that he can see the former Manchester City defender running down his contract and leaving the free transfer next year.
“I think Riccardo Carafioli will play a major role at Arsenal next season, with the arrival of Miles Lewis Skelly,” Watts said.
“I have seen some exit suggestions that AC Milan could be pushing him this summer, but I can’t see it myself, and I think he can provide a lot.
He added: “That’s a different story from Oleksandr Zinchenko. He is a player sold by Arsenal, and the words from Italy mean that Milan’s interest in him is serious.
“But wages may be problematic there. I don’t know if Zinchenko will hurry away. He has a year left in his deal and he’s making money at Arsenal.
“So, it’s not surprising me if he stays and sees his contract before evaluating his options as a free agent next year.”
