Christian Folk updates on Nico Williams Transfer SagaNico Williams from Arsenal to Arsenal never made any progress

Bayern Munich reportedly hopes they can still sign Nico Williams, as they wonder if Barcelona can’t afford a transfer.

While the Athletic Bilbao and Spanish left wingers have been the subject of much speculation this summer, the trustworthy Christian Folk has a specific and detailed update to the latest columns on CF Bayern Insider.

The Build journalists have insisted that Bayern Hope Barca cannot afford to complete Williams’ signature, but it appears Catalonian Giants President Joan Laporta is sure it will make it work.

Transfers are rarely simple and Barcelona seems to rely on cash injections from one of its sponsors, and now I feel they should experience it.

Regarding Williams’ latest updates amid Bayern and Barcelona’s interests, Faulk said:

“But I’m sure Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, will fund Nico Williams for this deal. Williams is leaning towards moving to Barca, and he has already met with sports director Deco.

“Laporta wants to make money, but it is imminent that it will repay the contract with German investor Libero Football Finance, which totals 40 million euros. The company joined Barca in August 2023 and is due to pay 60 million euros for its shares.

“However, only 20 million euros of this have been transferred to date. After a long dispute with the company, this money is set to flow into Barcelona’s 2025/26 budget.

Nico Williams from Arsenal to Arsenal never made any progress

Meanwhile, Charles Watts wrote Catch off side Yesterday, he reported that Arsenal’s interest in Williams has grown as sophisticated as discussing the details of the 22-year-old’s contract.

“If you decide to leave Bilbao this summer, there’s clearly a lot of chat at this point, given that he appears to have told all clubs interested in him that he would prefer to move to Barcelona,” Watts said.

“It will be a blow to Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.

He added: “We have seen reports that Arsenal has done it as long as it offers Williams a contract.

“Of course, his agent would have known what money would have been offered if Williams had been interested in moving to London, but that was as far as things got.”
