Lukasz Brzeski and Ryan Spann could be the town’s remaining match for the losers at UFC 318.
Several sources close to the situation confirmed that the light heavyweight fighter has agreed to meet on July 19th. Mmajunkie first reported this news.
UFC 318 is topped with Lafayette’s own Dustin Poirier and will fight his retirement with Max Holloway for the “BMF” championship.
Spann (22-11) is about to get back on track after losing to Waldo Cortes-Acosta in a second round knockout this March.
The man who once saw himself by finishing rapidly beyond Aeon Katiraba and Dominic Reyes in 2022 has lost four of his past five, three of whom have stopped. The only victory over that period was the guillotine, which won a bonus against Ovince Saint Preux in October 2024.
Brzeski (9-6-1, 1 North Carolina) is in a more desperate situation with the promotion after winning just one of his seven trips to the Octagon, including him. Dana WhiteCandidate Series for The shot ended in no contest after a drug test failed overturned his victory.
Polish talent, despite Clomiphen’s positive test, was still signed by the UFC and lost three consecutive times to Martin Budoy, Carl Williams and Cortes Acosta before he held back his decision against Balter Walker. Brzeski was later featured in the pay-per-view lineup, a first-round defeat to Mick Parkin and Kennedy Nzechukwu.
