Harry Kane warned Paris Saint-Germain that “anyone can win” after Bayern Munich held a quarter-final against the European champions at the Club World Cup.
Kane scored twice as Bayern ran the 4-2 winner with Flamengo in the final 16 meetings at Hard Rock Stadium, as Eric Pulger’s own goal and Leon Goretzka’s long distance effort completed the score.
Gerson and Jorginho, scoring from 12 yards, brought the Brazilian side back into the game, but were unable to push a comeback.
Bayern showed ruthlessness in goal as they plundered 12 goals in the group stage of the competition, scoring from a 1.1 predicted goal (XG) and netting on three of the four shots on target.
Having managed only one goal in his first three matches, Kane has scored 41 goals in all competitions since his start in 2024-25.
And he believes Bayern has the ability to overcome all his opponents in a delicious clash with PSG, who beat 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.
“It’s going to be another tough game,” Kane told Dozen. “PSG had an incredible season, we played them earlier this year and came to the top.
“In this game, you have to use that energy, that feeling, and you know it’s difficult.
“But we feel we can beat anyone when we’re on our level. We’ve shown that in previous tournaments. It’s going to be another tough game.
It was a fairly even matchup between Bayern and Flamengo, with neither side able to own actual scaffolding, while Philippe Lewis’ side managed only three shots with Bayern’s four targets.
“The main thing is, I watched the first 20 minutes and we played well, but the strength of the game was ferocious,” coach Vincent Company told Dazen.
“I’ve grown into a game to be fair, ‘Now, will this last for this opponent in this heat?” I think we were a good game for the fans.
“I’ll check what you need for that game (against the PSG), but the main thing is that you have to rest now, recover from this game and use every day on days when you have to rebuild your energy.
“What more do you want? The topsides play with each other on the biggest stage. We’re ready to do that.”
Filipe Luis admitted that after the game Flamengo did not match Bayern due to quality.
“It’s up to us to simply recognize the advantage of our opponent,” he said.
“They’re very good. We knew that. On this level, mistakes are fatal. Those who deserve to pass have gone through.”
