  • Gunners add the depth you need for your team

Arsenal officially announced Kepa Alizabaraga’s signature from Chelsea with a reported £5 million reporting fee, adding significant depth and experience to the goalkeeping division ahead of the key campaign on 2025/26.

Spanish International will start a new chapter under Mikel Arteta wearing shirt number 13 at the Emirates Stadium.

The 30-year-old arrived in North London from Chelsea and completed his move to Gunner and became the goalkeeper for the second choice behind David Raya.

Kepa will provide quality competition for Arsenal’s current first-choice goalkeeper and will also be the goalkeeper for Cup competitions when Raya rests.

Upon his arrival, Kepa expressed optimism about Arsenal’s direction, saying:

“I think we’re very close to winning.”

His words reflect a growing confidence within Arsenal camp as gunners prepare for another title push after finishing in his second position for three consecutive seasons.

Mikel Arteta welcomed the addition, highlighting the value Kepa brings to the team.

“He brings a wealth of experience. His teammates benefit from it and have a real hunger to win.”

Arsenal sports director Andrea Berta also commented on the signature, highlighting why timing is right for both the club and the player.

It has been very important this summer for Gunners to compete for Premier League and Champions League titles next season, adding experienced depth to their teams, and they did just that.

Completed at a modest £5 million, the deal is considered a smart business for Arsenal and signs players with player league experience, essential for team depth to compete at the highest level.

Fans want to see how the Spanish goalkeeper integrates into Arteta’s setup before the season, in preparation for the new season.
