The Golden State Warriors could be close to replacing Kevon Rooney.

In a desire to add a new starting center, the Golden State Warriors lost one of their veterans on the roster.

Kevon Rooney agreed to a deal to sign with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he rejoins former Warriors teammate Jordan Poole, whom he recently traded to the team.

Luckily, the Warriors already have alternatives in mind, and are even more recent title winners.

The Golden State Warriors are seeking a move to sign Boston Celtics veteran Alhorford.

Speaking to Hoop Collective, Brian Windhorst has been updated. “Alhorford almost certainly will sign elsewhere.

The Celtics are preparing to leave for Horford and signed free agency with Luca Garza of the Milwaukee Bucks Center.

Horford was the Boston Celtics champion in 2024. He is now 39 years old and cannot afford to spend his final or two years as part of the reconstruction.

The move to sign with the Warriors, already on a short window with Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler inside, is an ideal fit.

Golden State Warriors head coach and Team USA champion Steve Kerr praises Al Horford.

Speaking to the Boston Globe in 2019, Kerr was labelled Horford, the “perfect modern center.”

He added via Nicole Yang: “He can protect the rim. He can do a dribble handoff and step onto the three-point line. He can put the ball on the floor. He’s a really good passerby. That means he has to protect the entire floor.”

Horford may be in the final stages of his career, but he can still contribute. It’s only 12 months since he won the NBA title.

This past season has played 60 games in total, 27.7 minutes per game during the regular season.
